Hello my name is Ong Jin Wei. My crowdfunding team consisting of Wong Tzen Ket, Lee Chern Han Sean, Ling Jin Loong and myself are from Taylor's University. We have been given a task to start a crowdfunding project and we decided to crowdfund and donate basic necessities to an animal shelter.
After a week of research, we found a shelter called S.I Shelter that is sheltering stray cats without any intentions of making any profit. It caught the group's attention so we decided to pay them a visit to conduct an interview to understand more about their motives and methods on starting this shelter. The shop is a three story building that houses about 400 hundred stray cats. There are caretakers that takes care of these cats. From the interview conducted, the main motivation for starting the company was the experience he had as a young adult where he changed his view on stray cats. We found out the funds used to run this company is coming out of their own pocket. The owner is a GRAB driver and his wife works in an office that sells beauty products. They don't just give adoption to anyone who wants as they will conduct an interview with the client to ensure that the cats will have a happy life with their new owner. If they are not capable or have the ability to take care of the cat, this shelter will not approve the adoption which was the main surprise for me. After the interview, I finally understood their motive and I can say that this is an honest and good animal shelter that is worth supporting.
So I hope that I have provided and justified enough reasons to support this crowdfunding project. For more information about S.I Shelter please visit their Facebook page to know more about the kind of work they are doing. Thank you.
